I am a freelance professional with an uncommon mix of technical and creative skills. Typically I take on work that is difficult to create but easy to use; ethically sound and useful to people; and based on science.

On any given project, I take on one or more of the following roles:

software developer	create software applications using a variety of technologies - ASP.NET/C#/SQL, Flash/Flex/AS3, WPF/Silverlight, PHP/MySQL, Ajax/HTML.
researcher	explore new ways of using computers and the Web; study complex systems theory and its applications; perform experiments; create prototypes of new ideas
engineer	architect software, electro-mechanical systems; create mathematical models
designer	design user interfaces, animations; create 3D models;
writer	write copy, technical documentation, commentary, fiction; translate online content
project manager	manage a team of diverse professionals to deliver projects on time, on budget

I hold Bachelors degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering (Robotics). As part of my research, I developed an autonomous rolling robot which led to a U.S. Patent.

I speak German, Spanish, Hindi, Bengali and Mandarin Chinese with varying ability.
